GT3
1st Place: Xu Jia and Alex Yoong, Kings Racing
Xu Jia: Our team spent the whole night last night setting up the car to make it more competitive today. I overtook several cars from P8 after the start, and my co-driver Alex Yoong also had a fantastic stint. This is my first win since Beijing so I am very pleased. I hope this spells a good start to the second half of the season.
2nd Place: Martin Ragginger and Bao Jinlong, FAW T2M
Bao Jinlong: Wish our driver stoppage time was shorter!
Martin Ragginger: We had problems yesterday but we have managed to fix them today. Bao did a good stint but we are losing 10, 15 seconds to the Audis during pit stop. Nevertheless, the car is good and we are leading the championship. I am looking forward to the next four rounds.
3rd Place: Li Chao and Chris van der Drift, JRM JiaRui - TengDa
Li Chao: We started with the amateur driver fighting a number of pros, so I lost a few positions and had an incident. But I managed to fight back a few places to give the car to Chris. We did well today.
Overall GT3/GTC 1st Place: Franky Cheng and Anthony Liu, BBT
Franky Cheng: We make a mistake last time but not this time. I am happy and honoured to take the win and want to thank my team and teammate Anthony Liu.
Overall GT3/GTC 2nd Place: Max Wiser and Jiang Xin, Spirit of the Race
Max Wiser: We lost two positions during the start, but we manage to catch up. We did a good job with tyre and driver change. However, Franky and the R8 were quicker so I couldn't close the gap.
GTC
1st Place: Will Bamber and Bian Hao, JRM JiaRui - TengDa
Will Bamber: Today was a great comeback for JRM. We had a bit of trouble yesterday but happy to take P1 today and get some good points. I am looking forward to next race to partner to Bian Hao again, who is doing better and better each race.
Bian Hao: We didn't have a good starting position but my teammate did a fantastic job taking the car to victory. I want to thank JRM and everyone involved for their effort and for giving us a good car.
2nd Place: Huang Hsi Chan, D2 Racing
Huang Hsi Chan: It was pretty chaotic during the start, and people were fighting hard for positions. However, everyone was respectful and left space for each other, so we managed to get out without an incident.
3rd Place: Pu Shu and Liang Kaifeng, TSRT Tianshi Racing
Pu Shu: It had been an unforgettable day. We ran into safety car shortly after my start so we lost most of the advantage. The restart was intense, and that adrenaline rush hasn’t gone away yet. I am happy to still finish on the podium.
GT4
1st Place: Ling Kang and Billy Lo, Xtreme Motorsports
Ling Kang: My new teammate Billy didn't partake in practice but has shown good pace since qualifying. We suffered a five-place grid penalty due to the driver change, but Billy had a good first stint and driver change was impeccable. I left the pit in P1 and managed to pull away. Best race of the season so far!
Billy Lo: We had pole but due to the driver change we are taking a penalty, but that wasn’t a problem for us experienced drivers. During my stint, I was just steadily pushing ahead, and had some great battle with our competitors. I took the car home in P2 to hand over the car to Ling Kang, and he left the pit already in P1.
2nd Place: Yang Zhiyi and Rodolfo Avila, ZIA FEA Racing
Yang Zhiyi: We managed the car well even though we suffered some mechanical problems towards the end of the race. My teammate Rodolfo has been amazing in helping us out and giving me advice. I am very grateful to him.
Rodolfo Avila: It has been a difficult race, probably the most difficult one in my life. We encountered car problems so we needed to slow down. Engineers told us over radio that our engine and oil temperature was too high. It was so hot in the car as well I couldn't even see straight.
3rd Place: Robert Webb and Bill O’Brien, Team Lotus
Robert Webb: This is Bill and my first time racing in Shanghai and at China GT. The car has been reliable throughout the race and we tried to stay consistent. Overall, we are happy with the result.
Bill O’Brien: It has been a fun weekend for me. We had a problem during the start. The #721 car braked unexpectedly so we didn't manage to overtake. After the two AMR cars were out of the race it has been pretty lonely. The car was good. Today was hot so we don't have too much grip.
