The launch of the 2017 China GT Championship has reignited the public frenzy surrounding GT racing cars. A distinctive appearance and clean overtaking ability are the most obvious characteristics of the British-made Radical RXC Turbo.
The Radical RXC Turbo is the ultimate track machine from British race car manufacturer Radical. Radical is the largest race car manufacturer in the world, and has built many different types of cars which have been used by both professional drivers and ordinary car enthusiasts. Radical’s race cars features Le Mans prototype styling, and while taking into account the extreme performance demands of a formula car, the Radical RXC Turbo has excellent aerodynamic performance and is an absolute pleasure to drive.
Power
The Radical RXC Turbo is equipped with a Ford 3.5-litre, twin-turbocharged direct injection EcoBoost V6 engine, with a maximum power of approximately 500 HP. It is also fitted with a bespoke 6-speed Quaife gearbox, allowing the Radical RXC Turbo to accelerate from 0-100 kph in just 2.7 seconds, reaching speeds of up to 298 kph!
Control
The Radical RXC Turbo has lightweight fibreglass bodywork with an optional super light carbon-fibre body upgrade and with both the nose and tail of the car boasting monocoque crash boxes, which are both light and safe. The RXC Turbo features a bespoke Intrax Racing Suspension inboard push rod suspension system with double wishbones and an aerodynamic body, allowing for excellent manoeuvrability, and can achieve up to 2.1 g lateral acceleration!
In this year’s China GT Championship, Xtreme Motorsports have entered a Radical RXC Turbo into the fray in the GTC class. In the opening trace weekend in Beijing, the Radical RXC Turbo helped Xtreme Motorsports to achieve overall second in their class. Their constant overtaking and skill in the car during round two have left everyone wondering what else this representative of the British brands can achieve.
