Bentley Team Absolute launches three Continental GT3s into China GT battle
On 20 April, 2017, Bentley announced their line-up of drivers for China GT. Famous Chinese actor Han Geng, of “Hard Memory: Prisoner Under Air” fame, will be joining the Bentley Team Absolute, launching his racing career in a Bentley GT3.
Earlier this year, Han Geng left for England to get his racing license with help from the Bentley Motorsport Department. Han Geng will be racing in the number 9 Continental GT3 emblazoned with the words “Hard Memory”. Together with Swiss-born Alexandre Imperatori, a Shanghai resident, the pair will represent Bentley in the China GT Championship.

Bentley’s Director of Motorsport Brian Gush explained the importance of racing in Asia for the Bentley team and acknowledged the popularity of China GT with fans and major Asian racing teams. He continued: “We are very pleased to welcome Han Geng to the Bentley team. He has been through a tough challenge, but his aptitude for learning has allowed him to obtain his racing license with ease.”
Including celebrity driver Han Geng, the 2017 line-up for Bentley Team Absolute has now been officially announced. Their striking new “Hard Memory” cars are also sure to make an impact.

New talent Andrew Kim will join the race with Weiron Tan in the number 5 Continental GT3.

The partnership of Adderly Fong from Hong Kong and Vutthikorn Inthraphuvasak from Thailand will do battle in the number 88 car.

The Bentley Continental GT3 is based on the Continental road cars series, and equipped with a 4 litre twin-turbo V8 engine. Since its release in 2013, the Bentley Continental GT3 has raced on tracks all over the world and achieved great success, including being twice crowned champion of the GT Asia Series. The GT Asia Series is currently partnering with the China GT championship.
The China GT championship is the fastest developing series of GT races in the world and includes 6 race weekends held at China’s top racing tracks, including the Shanghai International Circuit. The opening race weekend of the 2017 China GT kicks off on 12th and 13th May 2017 at the Beijing Goldenport Motor Park.
